Fishing Tournament Insurance:

If your group is looking for ways to attain fishing tournament insurance, there are a couple of key factors to consider:

Number of memberships required: Some organizations offer fishing tournament insurance with membership in their national organization, but only if you are also a member of several sub-groups as well. Those multiple membership fees can add up quickly! With the NATA program, your group is covered by our one million dollar liability coverage program with just a single membership fee. It is quick, easy and affordable.

Quality of coverage: Unlike some other available programs, there is no aggregate limit on your coverage. What that means is that no matter how many events your organization conducts during the year, each occurrence within one of those events would have a million dollars worth of coverage. By example; a single event that had three separate boating accidents, for which your organization was held liable, there would be one million dollars of coverage for each occurrence.

We also provide (starting March 21st of 2019) "Legal Liability to Participants" coverage for up to $250,000 per occurrence.  This coverage covers Bodily Injury to a registered participant for which your organization becomes liable.  Again, there is no aggregate limit for this coverage.  Each 'participant' occurrence would have the $250,000 limit available, and this limit is separate and distinct from the $1,000,000 per occurrence limit provided by the NATA insurance program for non-participants related incidents or claims. There are certain requirements for this coverage extension, see "Available Forms" for the requirements.

SPECIAL NOTICE:  This is only a very general reference to what coverage (s) the insurance policy or policies provide and is not intended to attempt to describe all of the various details pertaining to the insurance policy.  Actual coverage's are detailed in the policy and are always subject to all terms, provisions, conditions and exclusions as contained therein.

There are limits to who can join the NATA. For example, if your group is a saltwater organization, even if your events take place on a dock or from land, you are not eligible for NATA membership. Please be sure to contact us if you are unsure of whether or not your group qualifies for membership in the NATA. We will be glad to answer your questions as quickly as possible.

Other Membership Benefits:

As already stated, membership in the NATA is easy, quick and affordable. Membership is also incredibly flexible. We support organizations no matter how small or how large, from those with just a few members to clubs and circuits that have very large rosters. Our focus on the safety documentation and financial protection of our members (and just those two areas) allows us to provide excellent service. Our members are our number one priority.

Speaking of safety documentation, we currently provide sample tournament rules and liability release forms which can serve as templates as your group puts together their own legal documentation. If you do not have a lawyer who specializes in outdoor organizations, he or she may not know all of the areas that you need to put into your documentation to make sure your group is protected from unnecessary risk. Our templates provide you and your legal advisor with a framework from which you can develop your own rules and documents. In the future, look for additional templates and forms ranging from on and off water rules and regulations templates to additional safety information for your members and event participants. We will continue to update our information in ways that will assist your group to be as safe as possible for your officially sanctioned events.

Membership in the NATA provides an incredible opportunity for your group, to protect themselves from unnecessary liability, keeping your group safe and financially responsible, regardless of the size or activity level in your organization. If you have additional questions about any NATA benefit, please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you might have.
